Kirsten’s art explores the quiet power of stillness. She reminds us that, even at our most raw and essential, we are enough.
In 2019 Kirsten developed a debilitating neurological condition, prompting a profound shift in her understanding of success, identity and self-worth. Her practice explores what remains when the identity and structures that once defined life are stripped away.
There is courage in revealing who you are in your simplest form. There is nowhere to hide. For the past three years, Kirsten has explored this idea privately through her art and the creative renovation of her home.
Shadows, presented at Lon Retreat, is the first public expression of this journey.
The collection reflects the quiet strength, beauty and nuance that emerge when we embrace our true core. Inspired by the rich colours of Lon Retreat—from lichen along the beach path to banksia flowers, the shifting ocean and the roving sun—the works distil these colours to their essence, exploring the beauty that appears where light meets shadow.
